Robert Bultje Team Johnson & Johnson

How did you get involved with the MMRF?

I have watched the work of the MMRF for the last 4-5 years and found the Road to Victories initiative very rewarding.

What do you want people to know about multiple myeloma?

The diagnosis does not need to define the patient.  The treatment of multiple myeloma has and will continue to evolve in years to come.  The advances in treatment is helping patients fight their cancer.

Why is participating in the MMRF Road to Victories ride important to you?

The activity will help bring me closer to multiple myeloma patients, and I look forward to learning more about their spirit and inspiration.

What are you looking most forward to/excited about the ride?

Joining the multiple myeloma community in establishing strong bonds and gaining an appreciation for the multiple myeloma patient journey.

What does your training regimen for this event look like?

I am a consistent Peloton cyclist and regularly weight train.  I enjoy mountain biking during the summer months which is helping me build my biking endurance.

Who/what inspires you?

I find that cancer patients are some of the most determined and strong minded individuals I have ever met.  Their ability to stay positive and maintain a healthy routine is an inspiration.

Have you participated in previous MMRF events? If so, which/when?

No, I have only observed the events from a distance.

Anything additional to add?

I look forward to getting off my stationary bike and observing the work of MMRF, and sprinting into the real world to make a difference in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
