How did you get involved with the MMRF?
I was introduced to MMRF through a fellow J&J employee, Matt Stella. In 2020 at a chance meeting we discussed cycling and he told me that he was participating in the MMRF ride. I expressed an interest and learned there was still a spot on the team and joined. Due to COVID the ride didn’t happen until 2022 in Maine, and it was awesome.
What do you want people to know about multiple myeloma?
I want people to know that there have been great strides made in the treatment of multiple myeloma. In fact, I have met people who would not be alive today, but for recently developed treatments including some from my company J&J.
Why is participating in the MMRF Road to Victories ride important to you?
I want to help find a cure for multiple myeloma.
What are you looking most forward to/excited about the ride?
The fellowship, the camaraderie, the experience of riding wine country all while making a difference.
What does your training regimen for this event look like?
I ride outside every chance I get. I try to ride at least 100+ miles per week.
Who/what inspires you?
Every patient that I met on the ride. They have incredible courage and determination.
Have you participated in previous MMRF events? If so, which/when?
Yes, Maine in 2022.
